But those who like rain, may note Cherrapunjee in India is rated as the highest rainfall area of the world. It is a small town at 4823 feet altitude (1484 meter) above sea level. It is in Meghalaya state of India. Annual average rainfall is 12647 mm. The highest recorded in a single day is about 1563 mm =5.12 feet on 16th June 1995. April - October is termed here as rainy season.
